3-year-old killed in Visakhapatnam by her mother’s boyfriend

PM Palem police station in Visakhapatnam has unravelled the murder case of a three-year-old daughter. In a sad state of affairs, an illicit love affair between Varalaxmi (Mother) and Bora Jagadish in Visakhapatnam, led to three-year-old Boddana Sindhushree being killed by Bora Jagadish.

Sindhushree’s parents got married in the year 2016. Due to frequent conflicts and quarrels that came up in their marital life, they lived separately. On separation, Sindhushree lived with her mother Vara Lakshmi since then. On 02 June 2021, Varalaxmi called her legal husband Ramesh and informed him of the death of Sindhushree. Varalaxmi also added that the death was due to an illness, and the dead body was buried in the Marikavalasa cemetery. Ramesh was all suspicious and lodged a complaint about the death of his daughter at the PM Palem police station, and requested the police officials to take necessary and swift action.

Based on the report of the complaint filed by Boddana Ramesh, Sri A Ravi Kumar, Inspector of Police, PM Palem Police

Station, Visakhapatnam city, registered a case on 03 June 2021 and ordered an investigation into the matter. During the course of the investigation, the Investigating Officer (IO) immediately secured the local MRO’s permission and exhumed the body. The dead body was immediately sent for post-mortem examination. The IO examined as many as 19 witnesses. On this cross-examination, the IO also questioned Bora Jagadish, who is currently having extramarital affair with Sindhushree’s mother Varalaxmi. During the inquiry, he said that he is married and also has children.

On further inquiry, it was discovered that Bora Jagadish has been having an affair with Varalaxmi since 2020. Completely aware that Varalaxmi was already married, Jagadish took advantage of the couple living separately and started to live with Varalaxmi at Marikavalasa, in Rajivagrihakalpa Colony since 14 May 2021, along with Sindhushree. As a genuine act of consideration, Sindhushree and Varalaxmi used to spend a lot of time together which Jagadish saw as an obstacle between him and Varalaxmi. Jagadish also confessed that on seeing the mother-daughter affection, he often got reminded of his wife and daughter and was emotionally hurt.

As fate would have it, both of them had totally run out of money and were in financial distress. On 1 June 2021, Varalaxmi went out to secure some money, but all her efforts turned out futile. On coming to know the same, Jagadish got vexed about the situation and landed himself out of control. Out of frustration, Jagadish, killed Sindhushree in Visakhapatnam, by slapped and forcefully assaulting her on the chest and ribs. The three-year-old Sindhushree suffered breathlessness and internal bleeding for a while, and with no medical assistance, died.

Based on the evidence and the confession of the Bora Jagadish, the police arrested him on 4 June 2021 and brought him to PM Palem Police Station, from where he was sent to judicial court for remand.
