India would celebrate the 45th anniversary of Indian Navy this year, on 4th December. To mark this festive occasion, the Eastern Naval Command headquartered in Visakhapatnam, is conducting an aerobatics show at RK Beach today. It was on this day the missile boat of Indian Navy carried out a lethal attack on the Karachi harbor during Indo-Pak war.
The day would commence with the Vice Admiral HSC Bisht, along with other dignitaries commemorating the martyrs. The Union Minister for Civil Aviation, P Ashok Gajapathi Raju would be the guest of honor.
An Operational Display is to be held in the evening, unfolding the accomplishments and dexterous skill of the Navy. The demonstration done by Destroyers, Corvettes, Fast attack craft and landing ships, Beach assault by Marine Commandos, Sky Diving, Close Range Anti-aircraft Firing, Band performance, Formation Anchoring and a host of other exercises, can be viewed by the residents of Visakhapatnam.
A whooping number of 24 ships and 17 naval aircrafts are scheduled to take part in this year’s festivities. Rehearsal for Op-Demo would be conducted on November 30 and the full dress rehearsal is scheduled for December 2. The final demonstration is being held on December 4. Entry to witness the rehearsals and the final day event is free. During the rehearsals and on the final day, a number of aircraft would be flying over the RK Beach.
