5 different types of people you would find at traffic signals in Vizag

Traffic signal stops in Vizag beget mixed emotions in a passenger. From coercing one to make impulsive purchases, to knocking the doors of the compassionate one within each of us, this 60 seconds countdown is an integral part of every journey. While a foodie may look out for the next signal stop to buy his/her tasty snacks, a late going employee or student may grudge it at the same time. Here are the 5 different types of people you would find at the traffic signals in Vizag that offer every passerby a unique experience.

#1 Sellers

Seller at Vizag traffic signal

Sellers form a large chunk of the different people we usually find at Vizag traffic signals. From selling vehicle accessories, to seasonal food and clothing items, a seller often picks the right customer to sell his products. God forbid if you have a child travelling with you. These sellers often have colourful toys and make just the alluring sounds to lure a kid. And you know how the rest of the journey is when you don’t oblige to the cry. Sorry, you can’t blame the strategy of the seller.

#2 Sambrani batch

Sambrani batch refers to the Messengers of God who visit you to transfer blessings. They carry the divine temple aroma, and often bring along a dhoop stick and a peacock feather. These people offer dhoopam (smoke emanating from the dhoop stick) and also place a tilak on the forehead while leaving. To know about the important role the Sambrani batch plays, at the traffic signal stop in Vizag, ask a student who is on the move to write his exams, or a candidate decked up for the 10:00 am interview. Truly they believe how important prayers are during a crucial time.

#3 Fundraisers

For fundraisers, the traffic signal stop in Vizag plays a crucial role. A fundraiser is usually prepped up with his elevator pitch – customised narration to convince the donor in a very short span of time. Often, these fundraisers are done for a medical purpose or for people who want to go for a yatra. During any festival season, devotees conducting an event for the entire town also go on a fund collection spree on the traffic signal stops in Vizag.

#4 Destitute

According to trends and patterns, India has recorded one of the largest numbers of the destitute population in the world. Not a traffic signal stop would pass without a destitute knocking on the window of a car. With India being a country of many cultures, traditions and beliefs, Indians firmly believe in ‘dhana and dharma’. Often the encounter with a destitute turns out to be a moral learning experience for traditional families who encourage their children to help.

#5 The Pamphlet Guy

Want it or you don’t want it, he will give you one. The pamphlet guys on the traffic signal stop in Vizag are a medium of informing or spreading awareness of a new offering or product. The pamphlets are often used to draw people towards the new gym membership in the city or a new supermarket that is opening in the other street. Students and event organisers also use this medium to call for an event organised in the university or for collecting funds to support the event.
