Hitting a gym to pump those muscles up has never been out of fashion. Most of us have hit the gym, at some point in time, at least once. While many treat this place as their ultimate “mecca”, many, owing to the inevasible inertia, find an aversion to it. On the one hand are those who are hellbent on maintaining a toned physique and on the other hand are those who are pipped by the harsh consequences of being a “couch potato”. Whatever may the reason be, the gym has its fair share of stories to tell. Here are the 5 things to which anyone who has been to a gym will relate to.
#1 The “Forever Monday”
Is there a better way to kickstart a week other than joining a gym? How many of us have said to ourselves, “Come this Monday and I’ll start on a healthy lifestyle by going to the gym”? Alas, maybe we forget to consider the immense persuading power of the omnipresent laziness. Also, how can we forget the “Monday blues”!
#2 The “First-day hurdles”
After a pretty easy life where all your muscles had to do was to help you just sit or stand, a situation that demands them to work in unison to lift a weight of around 10 lbs, can rip you off your toes.
#3 The “Ego-Factor”
Alright, Alright! Who needs to know that your pecs or biceps don’t have enough fuel in them to power the weights? All you got to do so as to safeguard your “ego” is to try and lift more than what you can bro.
#4 Trying to impress the ladies
Not able to get the drive to push a weight despite all those protein shakes and rocking music? Trying repeating the exercise close to the ladies present at the place to get surprised by how many times the reps get increased!
#5 Not getting the gains
The frustration is totally understandable. A fitness regime that has the hard miles during the workout session, coupled with a diet plan does inevitably produce the results. However, we hit the dumbbells twice a week and feast upon those cheesy burgers for protein. Who else but us will get those beach bodies? #IYKWIM
