Andhra Pradesh is the front runner of futuristic big projects and our Chief Minister is not one to shy away from taking leaps and bounds in development. Proposed for the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh is the BioCity with an estimated investment of $500 million in Srikakulam district. It will be spread over 5,000 acres and will have centralized facilities to boost life sciences and biotech ventures. Considering the thinking big approach to development there is no doubt about it. Take the example of the massive scale of development of Amaravathi as the future capital of the state. Kurnool is to have the biggest Solar Park. The Biocity is along the same lines of growth.
The venture looks at creating 6 to 8 clusters with capacity of promoting 400-500 units. The scheme will be a public-private partnership model. Frost & Sullivan who are the global consultants have been roped in for strategic partnership.

The preliminary feasibility reports have been done and 1500-2000 acres of land has been acquired. The name proposed for the Biocity Project is Dolphin BioCity. A thorough study into the strengths of operations in Andhra Pradesh with relevance to other fields and sectors is being explored.
