To enhance tourism, entertainment and sightseeing opportunities in the city, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), has come up with a slew of developmental-innovative measures for Vizag. Amongst the many ideas, is to bring the Seven Wonders of the world to Vizag. In this endeavour, a theme park with the miniature forms of the Seven Wonders will be set up in Vizag.
As reported by Sakshi, the Seven Wonders of the World theme park is to be developed to bring the best of both worlds to the people of Vizag. Each of the miniatures will be built at a height of 22 to 30 feet. These themed parks are also designed to attract visitors at night too. With the world-class lights that will illuminate the entire park, the seven wonders will turn into unique attractions.
Harvest Rain Water Park
In another development, with the theme parks attracting a lot of visitors, GVMC is planning to promote rainwater harvesting. In this endeavour, a Harvest Rain Water Park will be opened in Vizag. This park will primarily focus on the importance of rainwater for the ecosystem. It will aim at educating the public, raising awareness on rainwater harvesting and groundwater augmentation.
Along with the variety of theme parks that have been planned for Vizag, a Thunder Park, Butterfly Park, Dog Park, and a Lake Park have also been planned by the GVMC. The Corporation has identified large open areas in MVP Colony and Seethammadhara for this purpose. The park benches are planned to go with the theme of the park and a variety of attractive fruit-shaped benches are all set to come up in the theme parks.
Panchatatva Walkway Parks
The Panchatatva Walkway Park is proposed to be the lifeline for city dwellers. With the rising awareness and health consciousness among the people of Vizag, an innovative concept garden will soon come up. These Astro Gardens will serve as the resorts for healthy air, and healers of blood pressure and arthritis without medications.
Along with the Astro Garden, and Panchatatva Walkways, a birth star and constellations themed plantations park will be combined to enhance the experience. Since there are 27 species of plants connected to the 27 birth stars, a star forest will be developed to cater to every birth star. Similarly, 12 types of plants will be planted according to the constellations.
The Panchatatva Walkway Park is designed to provide natural treatment for health issues like insomnia, reduction in eyesight, hormonal imbalance, and improve cardiovascular function and regulate blood pressure.
Reportedly, the Panchatatva Walkway Parks will consist of eight parts. The eastern and northern parts are to be filled with water and the rest with black clay, sand, 6mm chips, marble, 12mm chips and 20mm round chips. The rows in the park are designed to provide for a health benefit.
The second row consists of medicinal and herbal plants. Plants like sugarcane plants, Sadapaku, Lemongrass, Betel, Davanam, Tulsi, Aloe vera, Saraswati, Ranapala, etc. The third walkway row is to provide acupuncture services. With 6mm metal chips, cement and concrete, this pathway is designed to heal through the acupuncture methodology.
Similarly, the fourth row consists of grass with foundation stones, the fifth row with a series of eight boxes with medicinal values, and the sixth consisting of the birth stars and constellations.
GVMC has already started cultivating Miyawaki-style mazes. It has also invited tenders for 11 parks in 9.88 acres at an initial cost of Rs. 10.92 crores. With several other theme parks, swing gardens, and star gardens, Vizag is all set to witness exciting makeovers in the coming times.
