It is finally here! The trailer for the film 83, which is recreating India’s journey to their first-ever cricket World Cup in 1983, is finally out and is nothing short of the original noteworthy moment.
Monday morning was the moment for the entire starlit team of 83, and Indian cricket loyalists, when Ranveer Singh, who is playing the role of Kapil Dev – one of the most celebrated persons in the history of cricket, took to Twitter to release the trailer. Writing “The incredible true story of the underdogs who pulled off the unthinkable!”, the lead actor announced that the film will be releasing in theatres on 24 December, 2021.
Ever since the 83 trailer release, social media has been bombarded with snippets from the trailer that have close resemblances to real life. Of the many posts that have been trending, a film critic shared a still from the trailer proposing if it is the 10-year-old Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Soon another film critic asked if Andre Russel is playing the role of Viv Richards in the film 83.
With many other doubts, speculations, and confusions on close resemblances, only the film stands as an answer. From what has been announced by the makers of the film, it features Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Sahil Khattar as Sayed Kirmani, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Boman Irani as Farokh Engineer and Pankaj Tripathi as PR Man Singh, who was the manager of the 1983 Indian cricket team.
83 trailer was released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. While the Tamil version of 83 was presented by Kamal Hassan, the Telugu version was presented by Akkineni Nagarjuna
