The Anti Corruption Bureau is on a warpath to weed out corruption in the government departments. The corruption in the state government has reportedly only continued to grow in the past.
The Anti Corruption Bureau recently arrested Dr U Swarajya Lakshmi, Kurnool DHMO and KL Bhaskar, Additional Commissioner of Excise recently. The Director General of the Bureau, ACB RP Thakur who took over the reins recently stated that this is just the beginning and they will look into many more departments soon. He has asked the Bureau to strengthen up in intelligence and asked his officers to study past judgements so as to make their investigations more accurate.
The Director General pointed out that the Central Government’s move to unearth black money wouldn’t work unless his department cracked the whip now. Ten government departments in the state that deal directly with public will be targeted and officers neck deep in corruption weeded out. The Bureau has in the past set up awareness and anti-corruption campaigns, even on social media. Despite that such cases continue to be on the rise in the state.
The Bureau has listed out the most corrupt departments consisting of people who have gathered crores of illegal wealth through accepting bribes. The government officials on the other hand have remained wary so far by avoiding traps even while they continue to collect bribes in private.
