Yesterday Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the BRS Medicity Project at Dondapadu, Amaravathi. The medical project is the venture of BR Shetty group. The project involves a total investment of $1.8 Billion. The project involves a medical university, super speciality hospital, dental colleges, pharmacy, a KPO, stem cell research center, yoga and naturopathy center and a three star hotel.
The medical facility aims to set up a quantum and analytics health care system worth 330 crores in the proposed medicity or health city. The land owners who had given up their lands for acquisition will be benefited. they can avail the services free of cost. the project would be beneficial for creation a lot of jobs for the region.
The master plan for Amaravathi is ready and CM has highlighted 27 townships and 9 cities in Amaravathi. The state government will be investing upto Rs.15,300 crores for infrastructure development and land development. BR Shetty had proposed to invest in Amaravathi for medical institutions when Amaravathi was at planning stage.

- There will be seats for 400 students in the medicity.
- Employment to be provided to 500 students.
- World class institution to dissuade studies abroad.
- 500 crore medical equipment manufacturing facility.
- 4000 jobs will be created at the proposed KPO.
The medicity plan for Amaravathi fall in line with rest of the super-modern plans for the future capital city. A big scale plan, but it will be extremely beneficial for Andhra Pradesh economically, medically and locally. CM Naidu is undefeated in his grand plans for the dream city Amaravathi.
