With two big-ticket movies, Jai Lava Kusa and Spyder already being released this festive season, Mahanubhavudu seems to be facing tough competition to penetrate into the crowd. In fact, this is not the first time that Sharwanand has locked horns with the big guns. He released his Express Raja along with Jr NTR’s Nannaku Prematho and Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana for last year’s Sankranti. For this year’s Sankranti as well, his Shatamanam Bhavati competed with Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150 and Balakrishna’s Goutamiputra Satakarni. Incidentally, the Prasthanam actor scored a hit on both the occasions. It remains to see if he gets a success this time around as well. So here’s our review of Mahanubhavudu
Review of the movie
Mahanabhavudu, which is directed by Maruthi, casts Mehreen Pirzada of Krishna gadi Veera Prema Gadha fame as the leading lady. The movie also has Nassar and Vennela Kishore playing other crucial roles. Produced by UV Creations, the movie has its music composed by SS Thaman.
Mahanubhavudu caught everyone’s attention with its impressive teaser and trailer. The movie showcases the protagonist as an individual having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Anand, played by Sharwanand, is a software engineer who can tolerate untidiness and filth. The plot of the movie deals with how Anand comes to terms with his illness so as to be successful in his love life.
Maruthi has handled the concept very well. He succeeds in creating humour with the protagonist’s OCD, much similar to the way in which he succeeded in his Bhale Bhale Magadivoy.
Mahanubhavudu is a clean-chit family entertainer that excels in comedy. Sharwanand’s comic timing is a huge plus for the movie. The movie is largely entertaining with the emotional scenes too having been dealt well. The music by Thaman is decent.
While one might feel the predictability of the plot at times, all in all, the movie will easily put a smile on your face and prove a worth for your bucks. Go for it 🙂
