February 16, 1989, saw Tollywood‘s biggest cult film go on floors. Debutant Ram Gopal Varma, better known as RGV, and the then-rookie Akkineni Nagarjuna had joined hands to make Shiva, which, three decades down the line, is still considered to be one of the finest films made in Telugu film industry.
The duo later worked for Antham and Govinda Govinda in 1992 and 1993 respectively. 25 years later, the famous combo has once again come together to thrill the audience with their 4th film together. On the occasion of completing 29 years of their professional association, both Ram Gopal Varma and Akkineni Nagarjuna took to their social media handles to reminisce the glory of Shiva and posted working stills of their upcoming film.

While Nagarjuna commented, “feb 16 1989…29 years ago today I started the game changer cult film SHIVA with RGV!!! It’s time to rock again with #NagRGV4???, (sic),” RGV tweeted, “Today Feb 16th is the first day shoot of my first film SHIVA ..on this occasion here’s a pic of my brand new Hero Akkineni Nagarjuna from #NagRGV4, (sic).” The ace director also added, “After 25 years of search, I found a new actor called #Nagarjuna who’s doing a never before seen kind of a very realistic action hero in #NagRGV4.”

Nagarjuna plays the role of a powerful cop in what seems to be a yet another trademarked product from Varma’s cannon.
