Young Indians, Visakhapatnam Chapter organised its 9thAnnual Session and Session on “Empowering Youth for Sustainable Development” on 28 February 2018 in Visakhapatnam.
Mr KVT Ramesh, Managing Director, Maharshi Academy was appointed as the Chapter Chair of the Young Indians Visakhapatnam Chapter for the year 2018-19. Hailing from the quaint and beautiful town of Palakol in AP, Graduating from Andhra University with a Biotech degree this multitalented personality has been in businesses as diverse as Soft drink manufacturing to Consumer product distribution to Branding and printing. Last year, he was certified by referral institute as a Certified Networker in San Francisco, USA.
Mr Pavan Kosaraju, CEO, Vignan Group of Educational Institutions for the Visakhapatnam region was appointed as the Chapter Co-Chair of the Young Indians Visakhapatnam Chapter for the year 2018-19. He is responsible for the overall management of 2 engineering colleges, 1 pharmacy college, 3 schools and 1 Jr. College with a total student strength of more than 10000 students and 1000 staff members. He has over 14 years of professional experience working in high technology, business development and financial consultant roles in Germany and India and worked with firms such as Infosys, SAP Labs and KPMG. Pavan holds a B.Tech degree from IIT Madras and an MBA degree (Entrepreneurship) from the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), Berlin where he was the SAP, distinguished Scholar. He is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), USA.
Mr M Hari Narayanan, IAS, Commissioner, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Visakhapatnam has given a thought-provoking speech on what Sustainable Development really means in terms of environment. He suggested creating awareness on the resourceful use of water. He just made a wake-up call to youth to understand the real meaning of sustainable development.
Mr V Prabhu Kishore, Chairman, Varun Group mentioned that to sustain, one needs to work towards one’s goals with more focus and staying focused is the real mantra to succeed. He also advised that though it is good to be ambitious but not greedy.
Mr Jacob Joy, National Chairman, Young Indians & Director, J J Confectionery Pvt Ltd mentioned that Sustainable Development is voluntary not to be enforced. He stressed on the role of skilling in sustainable development.
Mr D Tirupati Raju, Chairman, CII Visakhapatnam & Executive Chairman, Vijayanagar Biotech Group has emphasized to take more initiatives in the coming year between CII and Yi and work together in a more effective and productive manner by engaging more youth. He has also mentioned about the hard work, unflinching commitment and efforts undertaken by the Young Indians Visakhapatnam Chapter.
Ms Poonam Shah Srinath, Regional Chair, Yi (Southern Region) & Founder and Correspondent, Teeny Boppers Play School & Kindergartenspoke on the roles and responsibilities of Young Indians in Nation building and also how Yi is playing an active and important role in working with all the stakeholders in shaping the young minds of India to participate in this journey.
