In a shocking news, a minor girl in Hyderabad was set on fire on Tuesday by an alleged stalker, also a minor. The incident took place at the victim’s house near Amberpet when she was alone.
Amberpet Inspector A.P. Anand Kumar told The News Minute that both the boy and girl dropped were classmates at one point and knew each other.
Preliminary investigation suggests that a fight broke out between the two on Tuesday afternoon and the accused doused the victim with kerosene and set her on fire after a heated argument broke out.
After hearing the girl’s screams, the neighbours rushed to her rescue and admitted her to the Osmania General Hospital (OGH). The doctors informed that the victim had suffered severe burns and her condition was critical.
The victim, however, managed to reveal the details of the incident to the police. Based on her statement the police registered a case under Section 307 (Attempt to murder) of the IPC.
“The boy has claimed that the girl had attempted to set herself on fire and he tried to stop her. In the process, he claims to have burnt his hands. The girl, however, in her declaration, has implicated the accused,” a senior police official was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
The accused wasn’t arrested on Tuesday as he too was hospitalized after suffering burns.
