The much-awaited Uber eats, a food delivery app, has been launched in Vizag on Tuesday. The application, which serves as a platform for ordering food online, will help the people to receive all their favourite food to at their doorsteps.
Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi are the other South Indian cities where Uber Eats is currently serving its customers. Other major Indian cities include Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, and Pune.
“Over the years, consumers in the South have displayed a preference for traditional food with a global twist, while traditional food culture is still strongly felt with the presence of multiple street joints serving Idlis and Rasam and likes of the same, a huge number of eateries and food chains that serve ‘glocal’ palates has increased in the past couple of years. Owing to this, there is a huge opportunity for Eats to be successful in the Southern cities of India. We are confident that tapping on lesser-known yet upcoming cities like Coimbatore and Vizag will benefit our presence as well as allow southerners to now enjoy their food from the comfort of their own homes and without any hassle,” head of Uber Eats India, Bhavik Rathod, was quoted as saying by ANI news.
Reportedly, the food delivery app would be tying up with more than 150 restaurants in the city and the customers would be able to order from select places. Akkayyapalem, Dwarakanagar, Marripalem, MVP Colony and Siripuram are the areas in the city where the service is available.
