Karadu Narasimha Reddy (55), working as an attendant at the office of the Deputy Transport Commissioner in Nellore, has been identified as a law-breaker possessing assets which do not appear to be matching with his known sources of income. The attendant’s ill-gotten gains through corruption were summed to be around 80 Crores, owning 12 residential plots and 50 acres agriculture land registered under his name, his wife’s and mother-in-law’s name as well.
The attendant lives in a luxurious duplex house and also owns around two kgs of gold, while he got caught with 7.5 lakhs of cash in his house when the raid took place.
This man earns a monthly salary of a little over Rs 1 lakh, has refused promotions to the role of an office assistant or record assistant as he found the present designation to be more money fetching.
The investigators at Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) have collected information about the attendant’s corruption practices, registered a case on Monday and conducted a raid at his place on Tuesday morning.
When asked about the raid details, ACB Deputy Superintendent Rama Devi, who supervised the raid said, “We are still on the job” late on Tuesday evening.
The attendant is due for retirement in 2023.
