In a terrifying news, a 9-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 50-year-old rickshaw puller in Dachepalli of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. The distressing incident set a widespread rage among the public who came out on the streets demanding justice for the child.
As per reports, the girl was lured of chocolates and was taken away and raped. She was also threatened of being killed if she told anyone.
“The incident occurred at around 3 pm on Wednesday. Along with other children, the victim boarded a rickshaw just for fun when the accused lured her and raped her. The girl informed her parents of the incident last night. We have a registered a case,” the police said.
Responding to the incident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said, “Infuriated to hear about the rape of a 9-year-old girl in Dachepalli, Guntur district. Have instructed the IG and district SP to immediately take strict action against the culprit, and provide support to the victim’s family.”

Reportedly, the police have said that the accused might be mentally ill. Also, it has been reported that the man might have killed himself. The 50-year-old rickshaw-puller was seen going towards Krishna river, and reportedly told a man that he wanted to kill himself, Director General of Police M Malakondaiah said, reported NDTV.
The incident comes to light a few weeks after the horrors at Kathua and Unnao. Recently, the government had approved the ordinance of a death penalty to child rapists.
