In what is being hailed by the citizens from all quarters, Vizag police responded to a complaint on Twitter and rescued 21 of city’s youth from Abu Dhabi. The youngsters were allegedly duped by a city’s agent in the name of providing attractive jobs in the Gulf.
The accused, an agent of Vesco Robotec Welding institute at Vizag’s Autonagar, allegedly collected between Rs 65,000 and 80,000 from the youngsters and promised them of jobs in Korean based Hyundai company. The man then handed over the appointment orders before sending them to Abu Dhabi on April 3,5, and 8, it has been reported.
However, after reaching Abu Dhabi, the youth realised that they were cheated by the agent, as they were being used as helpers at a construction site. The candidates sought help from various quarters but to no avail.
They then lodged a complaint with Vizag city police on Twitter on May 11, to which they received a prompt response. The city police took the necessary action and carried out the requisite procedures to help bring back the youngsters to Vizag.
Informedly, the candidates had to endure a great deal of ordeal in Abu Dhabi. As per the victims, they were accommodated in small rooms and even had to suffer without food on several occasions.
Vizag Commissioner of Police, T.Yoganand told that the youngsters should be cautious of fraudulent job offers and should make proper enquiries before proceeding further.
The response by the city’s cops has been receiving accolades from the social media users. “Reach us to reach you!!
