Narendra Modi assassination plot revealed: In a news that has raised serious concerns over the security of Narendra Modi, it has been reported that a Maoist plot to assassinate India’s Prime Minister. Reports suggest that as per a letter seized from a suspected Maoist, it has been known that a plan was hatched to kill Modi in a “Rajiv-Gandhi-type incident,” during one of the road shows of the Prime Minister.
Several eminent personalities took to Twitter to express their concern over the news. “The plot to assassinate the Prime Minister of the largest democracy is a desperate attempt by anti-national elements to destabilise the country. This is not an attack on just an individual but on the people of the entire nation. Let’s stand united against such destructive forces,” tweeted spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
In another letter from a Maoist organisation, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his family members too were threatened.
In a copy of the letter tweeted by ANI, it was mentioned, “Kisan and few other senior comrades have proposed concrete steps to end Modi-raj. We are thinking along the lines of another Rajiv Gandhi type incident. It sounds suicidal and there is a good chance that we might fail…(sic)”
Responding over the same, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, “We are always concerned about our PM’s security. Maoism & extremism has now been reduced by many folds. Maoists are just fighting a lost battle.”
“Several facts surfaced in the letter. Police seized it & it will be presented before court. Probe is underway to find more links,” Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis told the reporters.
