Word’s third-largest electronics company, Flextronics, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) to start its operations in the state.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, have met the representatives of Flextronics at CM’s office in the secretariat.
On this occasion, Nara Lokesh said that a greenfield manufacturing unit would be established in AP to build a different range of intelligent products.
Also, he said that Flextronics would help in providing thousands of jobs while maintaining a strong supplier network.
Flextronics would be investing Rs. 585 crores approximately and create 6600 jobs in the state.
World’s biggest electronic company has already set up a manufacturing unit in AP and has generated employment to 14,000 women. Foxcon has been partners with Celkon, Carbon and Dixon companies.
18000 jobs have been created in AP from electronics manufacturing unit alone. Reliance would also be investing Rs 15,000 crores to manufacture Jio phones, set-top boxes, and other electronic devices. This would be creating employment for more than 25000 people at one place.
