The city of Visakhapatnam has been provided with an opportunity to host the prestigious 4th WHO Global Conference from December 13 to 15, 2018.
The conference would be taking place at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) Campus in the city. This is the first time WHO has decided to host the conference in India. From 194 UN Nations, nearly 2000 delegates are expected to take part in the global conference.
Plenary, panels, parallel sessions, workshops, exhibition and poster sessions are included for the conference.
The Andhra Pradesh Medical Technology Zone (AMTZ) is the first medical devices manufacturing park in the country is established at Nadupur village of Pedda Gantyada Mandal in Visakhapatnam. This project is a brainchild of our honorable Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who laid the foundation stone for the AMTZ park on August 19, 2016.
The zone is allocated with 270 acres of land along with a special purpose vehicle. Ever since the AMTZ project was revealed to investors on October 2, 2016; there been a rise in the number of booking, coming from over 40 companies. The park is set up with 200-300 units, providing jobs to around 25,000 persons, entailing an investment of around Rs. 30,000 crores.
