The staff at the GVMC Hospital in Vizag have been warned of losing jobs by the District Collector. The warnings have been issued in regards of the ill attitude of the staff towards the patients.
Noticing the less number of patients in the hospital, the staff were questioned by the collector to learn the reasons. On getting a reply from one of the nurses about the shortage of staff, the collector questioned her about the number. Also, the collector mentioned, “In agency areas like Paderu and Chintapalle, only one staff nurse is rendering service. But in the city despite having three nurses they are not working properly.”
Earlier, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has made plans to visit all the 5.8 Lakhs houses within Vizag limits. In this regards, the District Collector Pravin Kumar said that the officials would demonstrate about the need of Dry Day to the residents.
Additional to mosquito menace, the incessant rains made Vizag a mosquito breeding ground, with the water stagnation remaining an issue. Keeping this in mind, around 5,000 personnel from GVMC would be conducting a door to door surveillance to create awareness about dengue to the people.
