Vizag is gearing up to go pink as yet another edition of Pinkathon beckons the city. The event creates space for women across the city to come together as a community and extend support to the country’s largest running event dedicated to women and spreading awareness on breast cancer. Gearing at taking up health and fitness into one’s hands, the awareness run is one of its kind. The run will be spearheaded by fitness promoter and Pinkathon ambassador, Milind Soman.
The press conference for the fourth edition of “Vizag Going Pink’ was held on Monday at Green Park Hotel, Visakhapatnam. With the motto ‘ Fit Women for Fit Families’. The run is scheduled for October 27th, 2018 and would be commencing from Viswapriya Function hall, RK Beach. Vizag Going Pink offers the running distances of 3 Kms, 5 Kms & 10 Kms giving each runner an opportunity, to run in their comfort zone.
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths amongst women
worldwide, in spite of it being one of the curable cancers if detected early. The key to
controlling this disease, therefore, is to create awareness about preventive measures against
it.

Milind Soman, a supermodel, a fitness enthusiast and the Ironman Triathlon Finisher at
Zurich, Switzerland, Ultraman triathlon finisher is the brain behind this initiative. He believes
