Yet another road accident has claimed two lives on Friday in Visakhapatnam. Occurring on the National Highway near Vellanki, Anandapuram, the sad incident involved a young motorcyclist and a middle-aged pedestrian.
As per the details revealed by the police and locals, Tatishetty Sattibabu (52) was returning home from a farm when he was hit by an overspeeding motorbike ridden by Nischal Kanth (23). With the motorbike losing control and colliding strongly with Sattibabu, the two individuals were dragged on the road for about 20 yards, injuring themselves severely in the process.
While a 108 ambulance was called upon immediately, Sattibabu succumbed to the injuries on the way to the hospital. Kanth, on the other hand, breathed his last while being nursed at KGH in Visakhapatnam. With the motorbike’s speed crossing safety limits, the rider couldn’t be saved despite donning a helmet.
A case has been registered and the police in Anandapuram are working to gain further insights.
The accident comes to light only a few days after three people were killed in another horrific road accident in Visakhapatnam. The incident involved an overspeeding autorickshaw tip in the ghat section in Paderu of Visakhapatnam district. The deadly accident killed three passengers, including a six-month-old baby girl, on the spot and caused serious injuries to four others.
