As if the announcement of just the establishment of a LuLu Mall in Vizag was not enough to have us tripping, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has now said that the complex must entertain a sea view from every point.
In a meeting on Friday, he mentioned that the proposed Public-Private Partnership project should be the talk of the world with the designing being of the best global standards.
Expected to be completed in 2021, the project components include the much-touted international convention center, multiplex, and a five-star hotel at APIIC grounds in Harbour Park area of the city.
A potential employer of about 10,000 workers, the project is being carried out by The LuLu Group International, based in UAE. It goes without saying that the project is being anticipated by the residents of Vizag as well as the CM, who said that this would be a prestigious project for the city. He was also cited earlier this year urging The LuLu Group to make the Vizag project better than their mall in Kochi which has a daily footfall of about 80,000.
A delegation led by Design International Chief Executive Officer, Davide Padoa, met Naidu on Friday and gave a presentation on the designs of the mega shopping mall.
Chandrababu Naidu has asked the team to plan for 800 rooms with 5-7 star facilities. He has also asked them to improve the designs and that the mall should be an iconic structure. Priority is to be given to accommodating the sea view.
