Vizag-based entrepreneur and skater, Rana Uppalapati, has accomplished a feat by skating 6000 km across the Golden Quadrilateral of India. Intended to spread awareness and raise support for the education of 25,000 girl children in India, the skating journey was flagged off this September.
“The journey around the Golden Quadrilateral has reached its closure after the two ends met as the beginning, from then and from now. Exiting the loop with a way forward, an additional ninety-three kilometres today led to the six thousand kilometres #forHer to continue to pave a path for the cause. The final event of the campaign is scheduled for the 19th of this month at Bangalore. Until then and even later, support will continue to be raised to educate underprivileged girl children and awareness shall find a vehicle within us to spread further more about keeping children safe in one manner or the other. Signing off! Thank you for coming along,” Uppalapati shared on social media.
The skater took part in several campaigns raising awareness on the significance of education and teaching children about safeguarding themselves against child sexual abuse. The 37-year-old took 99 days to complete his inspiring journey.
Skating to create awareness om various social issues, the Vizag man holds credit for championing several campaigns in the past as well. Rana Uppalapati also found support from numerous celebrities including politicians and film personalities.
