Vizag is all set for yet another edition of Visakha Utsav as the city gears up to end the year on a spirited note. The city’s annual fest will be commencing on 28 December and will be thrilling the crowds until 30 December with a variety of events.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be flagging off Visakha Utsav around 5 pm on Friday. The carnival will be marked with a tribal and folkstyle opening ceremony, which will be followed by a Navy band performing the launch of Vizag song.
Grammy Award Winner Ricky Kej, along with his band, and Thaikkudam Bridge will also perform on the first day of Visakha Utsav. Raffle intro and engagements is another highlight that is expected to hold the crowd’s captive on Friday.
The main stage is expected to accommodate close to 50 artists at once. Radiant lights are set to be the other attractions as the festival gets rolling on the bay.
While the main stage at the beach is being adorned with the models of the state’s famous temples, the Central Park will play host to a special flower show being organised by VMRDA (Visakhapatnam Metro Region Development Authority).
Last year, apart from the local treats, a wide range of artists including the likes of Thaikuddam Bride, Pritam, and Sreeram Chandra, proved to be the highlights of the carnival.
