In a major stride towards the completion of the Millennium Tower B in Vizag, the state government of Andhra Pradesh, on Monday, has issued orders for the release of Rs 30 crores. The tower, along with its twin facility Millennium Tower A, is expected to boost the IT scene in the city.
Being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 55 crores, Millennium Tower B would consist of 8 storeys. With the APIIC (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation) taking over the construction duties, the iconic tower is being completed at a rapid pace with five storeys already being constructed. Reports suggest that Tower B would be ready by September this year.
The sea-facing Millennium Tower A was inaugurated recently by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Expected to foster the government’s plans to establish Vizag as an IT hub, Tower A now houses New-Jersey based digital interactions company, Conduent Inc. Having recruited about 1600 people for its Vizag facility, Conduent expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated office would to serve the company’s plans of expanding its services in the Asia-Pacific region. Congratulating the company, IT Minister Nara Lokesh had tweeted, “Extremely happy to see Conduent open their new office at the Millennium Towers in Vizag. More than 1600 people are working at the facility which is crucial to their business endeavours in the Asia-Pacific region.”
