The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has revised the parking charges at Visakhapatnam airport. In what is expected to reduce the congestion at the parking area, the 10-minute parking window at the city’s airport has officially been abolished. The AAI further informed of the new changes that have been brought into effect from 30 April.
Informing the latest change, a press release from the Airports Authority of India read, “The 10-minute parking window is abolished. No access fee shall be levied if the vehicles enter and leave the airport for drop and pick-up purpose. The vehicles won’t be allowed to stand on the pathway in front of the terminal for more than three minutes. Any vehicle standing on the pathway for long will be first directed to the parking lot and if the driver disagrees, a fine of Rs 3000/- would be imposed.”
As per the revised vehicle parking charges at Visakhapatnam airport, two-wheelers will be charged Rs 10 up to half an hour. The charges would correspondingly increase depending upon the parking duration. For four-wheelers, the parking charges range from Rs 20, for up to half an hour, to Rs 165 for 24 hours or beyond. The variable charges for Tempos/SUV/Minibus and Coach/Bus/Truck were also specified by AAI.
