The Jute Corporation of India along with the Ministry of Textiles will launch a week long campaign starting from today. The campaign called “Colours of Independence” is being conducted in 70 cities across the country marking 70 years of Independence. The aim to promote the eco- friendliness of jute and educate about the benefits of jute bags over a plastic one.
A jute fabric would be set up at CMR Shopping Mall where the HRD Minister of State, Ganta Srinivas Rao would be inaugurating the campaign. He would paint on it and then onward it would be open for the public. The paintings would be sent to the Ministry of Textiles on 15th of August.
“The campaign is being launched to invoke the spirit of Independence among the people of India and increase the growth of jute in India”, said KVR Murthy, Chairman and Managing Director of JCI.
