According to the Good Governance Index 2021 (GGI), prepared by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Andhra Pradesh ranked #1 in Agriculture & Allied Sector Ranking. This report was released by the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, on Good Governance Day at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The Good Governance Index 2021 (GGI) framework covered ten sectors and 58 indicators. The various sectors of the GGI 2020-21 framework include Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Commerce & Industries, Human Resource Development, Public Health, Public Infrastructure & Utilities, Economic Governance, Social Welfare & Development, Judicial & Public Security, Environment, and Citizen-Centric Governance.

On the whole, compared to the 2019 GGI report, Andhra Pradesh has improved its performance across sectors.
The GGI 2021 noted that Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa topped the composite rank score covering 10 sectors. It reported that Gujarat registered a 12.3 percent increase and Goa registered a 24.7 percent increase over GGI 2019 indicators.
It could be noted that as part of the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations of our independence, Sushasan Saptah – Good Governance Week was observed from 20 to 25 December, 2021.
