Andhra Pradesh now has a one of a kind cricket academy in Smt.Godavari Devi Saraf High School in Garividi. The school has partnered up with Mumbai based Cricket India Academy to encourage budding cricketers aged between 4 and 20, who live in and around Shreeramnagar, where the school is located. Cricket India Academy has an Australian Board of Cricket Education Programme franchise and is applicable for children aged between 8-14 years.
The initiative has gotten a great response with almost 100 students signing up in the first month itself. Amongst the enthusiastic players are 5 female students as well. The programme will be divided into three categories – Cricket Kids, that will teach kids under 8 years; Cricket Education Programme, that will teach kids between 8-14 and Emerging Players that will teach kids above 15.
All the coaches and trainers in the academy are professionally trained by Cricket India Academy under the expertise of Australian Cricket Board. By the end of the course, the students enrolled in the Cricket Education Programme and will get a certificate from the Australian Cricket Board. The students enrolled in the other two will get certificates from the Cricket India Academy.
The Academy was launched in the presence of Arnav Saraf, Vice President of Smt.Godavari Devi Saraf Educational Society and Abhisekh Shekhawat, Director of Cricket Academy India.
