Bolstering Tollywood’s dream run in summer, Manchu Vishnu’s upcoming film, Achari America Yatra (AAY), is deemed to emerge as yet another entertainer to keep the audience hooked this season. With this joy ride all set to take off on April 27, Yo! Vizag caught up with the film’s producer, Kirthi Chowdary, and here’s what this new-age filmmaker from Vizag had to share.
“My father, Mr. ML Kumar Chowdary, has been a part of the film industry for the past 15 years and had produced films such as Idiot, Vikramarkudu, and Don among others. Initially, I used to design costumes for a few of our films and wasn’t too active on the production side of the business. However, after a gap of few years, I came back to films with an intention to take up the role of a producer.
We have now established the banner of Padmaja Pictures and my elder brother, Kittu, and I, with the assistance of our father, manage the production responsibilities.”
“I would say the whole journey through the film was a blend of good, bad, and ugly experiences (laughs). While it was fun shooting the film, we had to face a fair share of challenges as well. Hurdles such as not being granted the requisite permissions, actors getting injured, and others, did put the schedules off the track for a brief period. But we tackled every situation and were able to successfully complete the film.”
“All the members of the unit were extremely sweet and understanding. It was a nice experience working with them. Vishnu is extremely respectful of women and Pragya is a humble and down-to-earth actress. Anup Thakur, who plays the antagonist in the film, is exceptionally hard working and did a commendable job. The director too was very supportive and struck a balance in several aspects. Our cinematographer, Mr. Siddarth, put forth some great work to present the film in a visually pleasing manner on the screen. Also, music directors, SS Thaman and Achu Rajamani, provided some amazing tunes for the film. Overall, it was a collective effort by the AAY team. Each technician and member deserve credit.”
“He liked the film and appreciated the director for making an entertaining flick.”
“Not only in films, I desire women succeed in every field they take part in. At this point, it is safe to say that women have come to the fore and are on par with men in each sector.”
“I was born and brought up in Vizag. I got my bachelor’s degree in business management from GITAM University. However, we had to shift to Hyderabad owing to my father’s profession. Vizag will always remain as a city close to my heart and I keep visiting it whenever possible.”
