As a part of the land-pooling exercise, the revenue department has been asked to hand over 40 acres of government land at Agnampudi Tri Junction in Visakhapatnam. As per the reports, the land would be used to establish an affordable township by the Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO).
On this regard, the site was visited by the Metropolitan Commissioner P. Basanth Kumar, along with GVMC Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan and revenue officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Metropolitan Commissioner said, “Nine people were found to be in possession of a part of the 43 acres inspected on Friday. They need to be given alternative land if the entire stretch is allotted for housing. Even if the stretch is excluded, 40 acres can be utilised for the housing project.”
The sketches of the boundaries would be developed by VMRDA would be handed over to the TIDCO for the commencement of the land works.
Also, VMRDA would be going through the consent letter to interact the ones who are willing to part with the land. The officials are on plans to interact with the ones who aren’t willing to participate for the land pooling.
Sources mentioned that the call out for the tenders has already begun and the land will soon be handed over to TIDCO.
