Visakhapatnam is set to host an ‘Agri hackathon’ as a part of hackathon India 2017.
In what is coming as a heartening news to all the citizens of Visakhapatnam, the co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates is all set to visit the city. Gates, who is also the co-founder of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will participate in the ‘Agri Hackathon’ event that will be organized in Visakhapatnam from November 15 to 17.
As per an official press release, Bill Gates will be in the city for two hours. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the ‘hackathon’ event on 15th November. As per a report in The Hindu, Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Mr. D. Rajasekhar, said that Mr. Gates, along with the Chief Minister, will participate in the event’s valedictory ceremony on the 17th of next month. The Principal Secretary and district collector Mr. Pravin Kumar reviewed the arrangements on Thursday.
In fact, while addressing the crowd in Kurnool last week, the Chief Minister informed that Mr. Gates will help the state’s farmers by encouraging newer technologies. As per a report in Deccan Chronicle, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will help the state’s agricultural sector by providing millions of dollars.

Apart from Billa and Melinda, BMGF also has Warren Buffett as one of its trustees. The headquarters of the Foundation is in Seattle, Washington.
