poojan kohli
How many of us miss the music of the 90s to which we used to tap our foot to as teenagers? Be it the albums of our favorite Euphoria or the peppy numbers of Lucky Ali, they had a typical liveliness and fizz about them. Well, after many years Poojan Kohli of our city has revived the hopes of making such lovely music available to us once again. His latest Bollywood debut number Chal Mahiya has been released yesterday and is doing pretty well on YouTube.
Poojan Kohli is a singer who hails from Vizag. He did his Engineering from GITAM University and completed his MBA in Canada. Poojan started singing when he was 15 after being encouraged by his friends. He quickly rose up the ranks and has even sung some popular Telugu songs in films like Kshanam and Raja Nuvvu Keka. He’s currently singing a song in Raj Tharun’s upcoming movie.
Chal Mahiya is Poojan’s first Bollywood venture, he has collaborated with the Zee Music company. The song is picturised in Shimla and has some beautiful visuals that perfectly go in sync with its tune and lyrics. The lyrics have a deep meaning to them and are inspired by the ancient poetry of Baba Bulleh Shah. Poojan has managed to skillfully fuse these lyrics with modern instruments. The song is a mix of Punjabi and Hindi lyrics.
In the video, Poojan quite effortlessly croons away the lyrics which are directed towards his lover. He suggests her that they find a place in the world where everyone’s blind to the shackles that bind love. A place where there are no barriers of caste, religion, and others. A place where only pure love could be found.
Chal Mahiya will truly win your heart with its music, lyrics, and of course, Shimla’s beauty. It has all the ingredients to make you fall in love with it. The link to the song is given below.
