Andhra Pradesh government has finally zeroed down on the design of the Assembly building to be constructed in the capital city of Amaravati. The officials, after considering the response from the public, has finalised the design proposed by architecture firm Foster+Partners. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has instructed the officials to go ahead with the tower design as many people voted for it. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) will be chalking out plans to start the required work at the earliest.
The officials took to the Facebook handle of Andhra Pradesh CM to inform the public on the latest development.
It has been learned that the tender process and construction work will begin in next few weeks as the government plans to complete the construction of the Assembly by 2019.
Filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who has been roped in for this prestigious project, proposed the installation of ‘Telugu Thalli’ in the assembly hall. This idea, which has received a unanimous response from the officials, has also been finalised.
Earlier, the government had released 13 proposed designs for the assembly building in Amaravati. After receiving the response from the public, and considering several other factors, the officials pinned down on the above two designs. The new capital is expected to be built with a whopping estimate of Rs 58,000 crore.
