AP is already the largest producer and exporter of fish and aquaculture produce. In addition to this, the improved air connectivity with a total of 11 airports (planned and existing), four major ports and the planned 975-km coastal Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor have a all played significant parts in making Andhra Pradesh a top player for the ‘State of States 2016’.
Andhra has won the title of ‘Best Big State’ as a result of completing 26 of the 52 projects sanctioned under the JNNURM. Maharashtra was declared as the ‘Most Improved Big State’ whilst Goa bagged the title of ‘Best Small State’ and Arunachal Pradesh won the ‘Most Improved Small State’ title.
