While the country still seems to be reeling from the flood havoc in Kerela, the very severe cyclonic storm (VSCS) Titli has destroyed the districts of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh a few days ago. Trying to rebuild the lives in these districts, the state government has called out to the public to be a part of its efforts. The public can now lend a helping hand to the flood victims by donating to the CM Relief Fund.
“Join hands with Government of Andhra Pradesh in rebuilding lives of those affected by Cyclone Titli. #CycloneTitli has left many of the lives in devastation in the northern coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh. Join hands with Government of Andhra Pradesh in rebuilding their lives. Make a difference by contributing to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund & become a part of our efforts,” the government posted on social media.Among the many individuals who came forward for the cause, was popular actor Vijay Devarakonda. The NOTA star took to his social media portals to ask more people to join the efforts and help the devastated districts. Devarakonda contributed Rs 5 lakhs to the CM relief fund and shared, “The news just reached me in Leh. This time it’s our own. Let’s join in. Every contribution is massive. You did it last time with me for Kerala, let’s do it one more time. I stand with you Andhra Pradesh and so will a lot of my people. #CycloneTitli.”
Crossing the shore with a wind speed of 160 kmph, Titli caused a rampage in the affected areas. Numerous electric poles and trees were uprooted by strong winds. Reportedly, the power supply too, to more than 4000 villages was affected in Srikakulam district. The telecommunications networks have also been hit in these areas.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide financial support to the state in this time of grief.
