The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), UNESCO’s first category 1 research Institute in Asia Pacific, are engaging in a strategic collaboration for education.
As part of the association, UNESCO MGIEP is organising an international Ed-tech conference titled ‘Transforming Education Conference for Humanity’ (TECH) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh in Visakhapatnam, India from December 16 – 18, 2017. The first-ever Transforming Education Conference for Humanity 2017 (TECH) is a unique conference on Digital Pedagogies that embed concepts of peace and sustainable development.
The Opening Ceremony will be presided over by Shri Chandrababu Naidu, Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh as well as Shri Prakash Javadekar, Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
TECH is bringing together experts such as Dr. Heather Knight, Prof Sugata Mitra, Gary Stager, Jordan Shapiro, Vinnie Jauhari, Mila Thomas Fuller, Zigor Hernandorena among others on the same platform. These Ed-tech pioneers and others will be presenting on sessions ranging from Artificial Intelligence in Learning, Games-Based Learning, Design Thinking, Dialogic Technologies etc.
The TECH Conference is expected to attract almost 800 international delegates including Ministers of Education, policy makers, Ed-tech experts, academics, researchers, neuroscientists and youth representatives. TECH is sponsored by Microsoft India, Samsung India, McGraw Hill and Veative. Other Knowledge Partners include the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), Quebec Government, Economic Development Board (EDB), Ubisoft and Social Alpha.
