The government of Andhra Pradesh in association with Internshala launches internship program: 1000 interns to impart digital literacy to school teachers in the state.
As a part of the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s special initiative, AP Janmabhoomi, 1000 recent graduates and college students will get an opportunity to intern with the Government for a social cause through Internshala. AP Janmabhoomi is promoting digital literacy among the government school teachers as a part of their plan to digitise all schools in the state. The selected interns will impart digital literacy to the teachers. This is an opportunity for the youth to work for social development and network with the Government officials.
In collaboration with Department of Municipal Administration, Andhra Pradesh & under the leadership of Jayaram Komati, Andhra Pradesh’s Special Representative to North America, AP Janmabhoomi is working to take forward the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu Garu to digitise every school of Andhra Pradesh. Under this initiative, 1500+ govt. schools have been already digitized with help from NRI contribution. Now, to ensure that digital classrooms are effectively used to teach students, the GoAP is hiring interns who would impart digital literacy to teachers in these schools.
World’s largest internships and online training platform, Internshala is the Internship Partner for this initiative. As a part of this program, each intern will deliver a 30 hours digital literacy training to teachers at a government school in a district so that the teachers can effectively teach in the digitised classrooms that GoAP plans to provide. Upon completion of their internship, the interns will receive a certificate and letter of recommendation. In addition to that, top performing interns will also get a certificate of merit from the Minister’s office.
Mr. Komati said, “We are on a mission to impart Digital Literacy and uplift the lives of people in the remotest parts of Andhra Pradesh. Involving youth is essential for any state’s development and through their contribution we can make a greater impact while engaging them in social development. Through the collaboration with Internshala, we are looking to train teachers in the government schools of Andhra Pradesh.”
Founded in 2010, Internshala offers 4 lac+ internships every year. Over 2.5 million students and 70,000 organisations use the platform.
“We are excited to partner with AP Janmabhoomi for their Digital Literacy Program and engage the youth of the state in a nation-building project,” said Sarvesh Agrawal, the founder, and CEO, Internshala. “Internshala’s mission is to connect the students and graduates with meaningful opportunities to help them in their career. But, through this association, we are helping them connect with a social cause as well. This is a very exciting chance for the students to intern directly with a state government while making a difference in the society.”
