Swimming accident claims lives of 4 engineering students of Andhra Pradesh

What was intended to be a fun swimming trip results in accidental drowning and deaths of 4 engineering students from Andhra Pradesh.

The deceased 4 engineering students were from a private college in Bhogapuram which is in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. A fun trip for the fun trip turns deadly as 3 out of the 4 engineering students drown and the last one who tried to save them drowns while trying to do so. This unfortunate accident happened on Saturday and was discovered on Sunday morning. The four students are G Vijaya Kumar, 21 of Chintalapudi, K. Harikrishnam Raju, 21 of Kothavaru, A.S.K Parasuram, 21 of Eluru and Kota Sai, 19 of Godavari district. All of them were friends from a private engineering college.

The site of the incident is Goa Gardens near Vatluru Tank in Bhogapuram. A report suggests that the youngsters might have consumed alcohol at the gardens before venturing into the tank for swimming. While the other were swimming and showed signs of possible drowning, Kota Sai was the one who attempted to rescue them. Sadly, he too succumbed while doing so.

It was only the next morning that a villager who had come to the site, saw clothes and footwear strewn about. After informing the police, a search was carried out and then the dead bodies were recovered from the tank.
