According to reports, KIA Motors is very close to choose Andhra Pradesh as its site to start the first manufacture facility in India. This Korean automaker is likely to confirm the final site in Ananthapur district by the end of February 2017.
The Korean automaker has been in talks with many states for setting its production in the country but Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were the front runners to get Kia on board.
Kia Motors is reportedly close to finalising the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh as the site of its first manufacturing facility in India. As per media reports, the Korean automaker will likely be confirming the final site in Ananthapur district by the end of this month. The latter clearly seems to have offered a lucrative proposition to the Korean automaker, thus succeeding in bringing its production facility to the state’s kitty. One interesting fact is that Tamil Nadu is home to Hyundai Motor Co., which is Kia’s affiliate brand.
600 acres of land has been offered by the state government of Andhra Pradesh to the automaker to set up its first manufacturing facility in the country. The exact location of the production factory is yet to be decided. The production of small cars is aimed to start from this new manufacturing unit from July 2019.
