In what is coming as a heartening news to Vizag, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has approved for establishing animation, gaming, virtual reality and comic sectors in Andhra Pradesh at a meeting with the cabinet.
The CM and his cabinet members met at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Monday with an aim to make the state excel in the field of animation and gaming. In this regard, the Animation Visual Effects Gaming and Comics (AVGC) Policy 2018-2020 has been approved by the cabinet. The main objective of the policy is to draw Rs 6400 Crores investment by 2020 which will be used to develop a 40 acre animation and gaming city in Vizag.
The government stated that it will grant 25-30% one time subsidy on capital expenditure for hardware and supply 24/7 quality power with an internet fibre line at the AVGC Hub. The cabinet is keen on bridging the gap between the demand and supply of human resources and attract a larger share of work by outsourcing in animation and gaming sector.
The cabinet also approved to provide a 40 acre fully developed land to Franklin Templeton Investments (FTI) to establish its core Invest Management, Data Science, Predictive Analytics and Artificial Intelligence teams in Vizag.
Hopefully, the sector would serve as an employment base to people in the state who love to shine in the field of virtual reality and gaming. It would also pave way for the city to stand out in the field of animation.
