Janasena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan will soon be entering his first electoral fray. In what comes as a much-awaited announcement to all his supporters, the Janasena Party Chief will be contesting the upcoming AP elections from the constituencies of Gajuwaka, in Visakhapatnam, and Bhimavram, in West Godavari.
As per JSP, the decision has been made after an intensive survey. “The party’s General Body has asked Janasena Chief, Pawan Kalyan, to contest from the constituencies of Bhimavaram in West Godavari and Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam. The General Body conducted a state-wide survey to decide the constituencies for Pawan Kalyan, in the best interests of the party. Anantapur, Tirupati, Rajanagaram, Pithapuram, Bhimavaram, Gajuwaka, Pendurthi, Ichchapuram were among the top constituencies in consideration. After an internal survey, the General Body asked Pawan Kalyan to contest from Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram,” an official release from Janasena Party stated.
The release further confirmed that Pawan Kalyan gave a nod to contest from the suggested constituencies. Details are yet to be revealed as to when would the JSP supremo file his nomination.
Earlier, Mr. Kalyan announced that Janasena Party will be contesting the upcoming elections in alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), CPI and CPI(M). He further declared that as part of the alliance, Janasena will be contesting for 140 Assembly and 18 Lok Sabha seats. While BSP will field its candidates from 21 constituencies, CPI and CPI(M) will be contesting for 7 Assembly seats each.
Elections to the 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are slated to take place on 11 April.
