The picturesque valleys of Araku, near Vizag, are all set to play host to the Araku Balloon Festival, bringing together a total of 16 balloons from 13 countries.
The festival, which is an initiative of the State government in collaboration with E-Factor and Sky Waltz, promises to offer some breathtaking visuals of numerous hot air balloons skimming across the blue at a height of 500 feet to 2,000 feet. Speaking to Yo! Vizag, one of the spokespersons of E-Factor said that the basic ethos of the festival is to identify Araku as a ballooning destination. The event will be kicked off on the November 14 of this month and will last for three splendid days.
The Musical ‘Night Glows’, which will light up the dark skies with dazzling balloons, assures to fill the valley with an all-new vibrancy and leave the spectators awe-struck. There are also some special shaped balloons, like Iwi the Kiwi from New Zealand, Neptuno, the Seahorse from Brazil, and Bee from Belgium, which will be gliding above us during the course of this Balloon Festival.
Apart from the spectacular visuals that the Araku Balloon Festival will be offering, another feature that will excite the people is the fact that a few lucky ones will get the opportunity to participate in a balloon ride. The people for these free rides will be chosen on the basis of a lucky draw. Interested ones can even register their names at www.arakuballoonfestival.com
We have even come to know that the spectators are in for some more sights that will leave them awe-struck. Get ready to be dazzled as sky-divers will be swooping down the valleys from the floating hot air balloons amidst the lush green valleys of Eastern Ghats. These spectacles would be nothing less than a treat for any adrenaline junkie. This first-ever edition of this festival is being organised under the patronage of the Honourable Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu and the guidance of the tourism minister Ms. Bhuma Akhila Priya.
Oh, and by the way, if the grapevine is to be believed, a few fortunate ones could even bag some exhilarating chopper rides at the Araku Balloon Festival. So get set, buckle your seatbelts, and head straight to Araku as you could be in for an experience of a lifetime with this ‘larger than life’ event.
