Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has broken box office records by bringing in Rs 1000 crore worldwide. The hard work continues to pay off for Baahubali 2 this week too as it has touched Rs 1047 crore, with Rs 854 crore collected from India alone in just 10 days.
Baahubali 2 has broken all records and made history by being the first Indian movie to bring in Rs 1000 crore worldwide. The movie minted Rs 800 crore in Indian market alone by releasing in four languages and Rs 200 crore from overseas. The movie has earned so much fame that even BBC went on to talk about the movie.
The team of the film held a special screening in London, with SS Rajamouli and Anushka Shetty even giving interviews to BBC. In the interview, SS Rajamouli talks of how the concept of superheroes in India has so far been limited to Batman and Superman. He states that while there’s nothing wrong in watching those movies, it is great to receive appreciation for our culture too.
Even Rishi Kapoor recently tweeted about the movie’s success. He tweeted – Seeing Bahubali 2 now. Interval. Chat later about the film. I want to know where has this film been shot? I want a 2 BHK there! Any agent? He even tweeted – BAHU”t”BALI”yaan chadengi filmon ki to match this film’s triumph and business. An Indian Celebration. Glad am part of this business of films.
Despite earning such huge amounts, the problem of piracy still continues to haunt Baahubali 2, with it being downloaded via illegal websites. A complaint has been filed against the website Tamil Rockers for uploading pirated versions of the movie to several websites. It was mentioned in the complaint that the producers of the film have incurred a humongous loss due to the piracy.
