Spiritual guru Bala Sai Baba passed away of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Hyderabad. Reportedly, Bala Sai Baba was admitted to the hospital on Monday night after he suffered from a chest pain. While undergoing treatment, he breathed his last on Tuesday morning, leaving his devotees in a state of shock.
Born to Kannanur Ramanandha Sastry and Jaya Lakshmamma in Kurnool district, he was named Balaraju. In his youth, he turned into a godman and established an ashram in Kurnool. Aged 58-years, the godman hailed from Kurnool and possessed two ashrams; one each at Kurnool and Hyderabad. The ashrams receive a large number of devotees each year, who seek the blessings of Bala Sai Baba.
The Baba was noted for bringing out Shivalingas from his mouth on the occasion of Maha Shivratri. While his devotees saw it as a divine wonder, many organisations labelled it as a hand trick, thereby fetching several controversies. Bala Sai Baba had also faced allegations against him in a few land-grabbing cases.
Reportedly, his devotees have arranged to shift his mortal remains from Hyderabad to Kurnool.
