Borra Caves of the Araku Valley continue to fascinate the tourists who visit Visakhapatnam each year. These million-year-old limestone caves have never failed to intrigue us with their charm. despite a few complaints that have been reported in the past few years. In what might be a major boost to the tourism here, the Caves will soon be added with upgraded amenities to attract more tourists.
Considering the difficulties that have been reported by the tourists on peak days, the Tourism department has decided to upgrade the amenities at Borra Caves for the good. Reportedly, the department will invest an estimate of about Rs 2 crores for developing the tourist site.
A few of the developments to take place at Borra Caves:
- The entrance of the Caves is likely to get more attractive.
- Restrooms to be set up for the convenience of the VIP guests.
- Air-conditioned restaurant, shops, and toilets to be set up.
- A separate exit to be added at the Borra Caves.
- The bridge at the Borra hotels, which collapsed earlier, to be constructed again.
An official of the Tourism department told Sakshi that they are planning to complete the development works soon and make them available to the travelers by the end of this May. It may also be noted that the Caves have been equipped with a free WiFi zone recently.
