The officials informed that five companies have been short-listed for the construction of the Rs 8,300 crore project. The project would be constructed under the “Innovative PPP mode”. They also told that as a part of the project, three corridors at a stretch of 42.5 km would be established. The corridors would be set up at the cost of Rs 4,100 crore in five years. The elevated corridors and the stations would be established at a cost of Rs 4,200 crore.
The developer has to maintain the project for 30 years, the officials informed to Mr. Naidu.
As per a senior official, the developer for the project would be chosen among the five firms who had already submitted their bids for the Request for Qualification (RfQ).

- TRIL Urban Transport Private Limited, Mumbai
- Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Private Limited, Mumbai
- ESSEL Infraprojects Limited, Mumbai
- IL&FS Rail Limited, Mumbai
It has been reported that Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation (AMRC) will be bearing 50% of the project cost while the remaining will be contributed by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) and under the PPP partnership model.
