Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President, Chandrababu Naidu, is expected to receive a boost in his campaigning stride ahead of the upcoming elections. In the build-up to the polls, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are likely to join hands with Naidu for a roadshow in Visakhapatnam, several reports claim.
Scheduled to be held on 31 March, the roadshow is expected to begin at Payakaraopeta and extend up to Madhurawada. Reportedly, while the TDP members in the district initially mulled over organising a public meeting at Payakaraopeta, the plans were soon changed to reach a larger audience through a roadshow.
Several TDP leaders assembled in the city on Thursday to discuss the arrangements ahead of the show. Visakhapatnam North candidate Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Visakhapatnam East candidate Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, Visakhapatnam West candidate PGVR Naidu and Urban President S.A. Rahman were among those who participated in the meeting to chalk out plans for the event on Sunday. Eenadu further reported that efforts were being made to organise the roadshow between 3 PM and 10 PM in Visakhapatnam.
It may be noted that Arvind Kejriwal participated in Chandrababu Naidu’s campaign in Vijayawada on Thursday. The Delhi CM had heaped praise on his Andhra Pradesh counterpart and appealed the voters to vote Naidu to power in the upcoming polls.
The united stance by the leaders is also being viewed as a show of strength of Mahagathbandhan. Earlier reports also claimed that other prominent leaders, including HD Deve Gowda and Tejashwi Yadav, might also lend their support to TDP’s campaign in Andhra Pradesh.
